songwriting experiments with guitar

Postby pkitchen on Fri Jan 02, 2009 3:23 am

i had a sudden burst of creativity lately, and put down a few solo guitar tracks. i am really happy how these came out - i don't consider myself a superb songwriter in terms of musical structure, but i feel i really captured my genuine creativity and influences here. anyhow, i will link to a couple of the scratch tracks.

looking for feedback on what, if anything, should be added. i am thinking perhaps some environmental sounds, natural percussion perhaps? not sure i'm looking to do more "traditional" instruments or drums. i kind of like them as they are, i just think i could really bring some more environment into them to perfect it.

sorry for the mistakes, they are just scratches.

If you want to put together more complete versions of the guitar pieces, I'd be happy to lay down ambiance behind 'em.

The first one is good on its own. I wouldn't clutter it up. On the second one I hear it more as a foundation where a second guitar could come in with a high part, maybe tremolo picking and building up to something epic. Cool ideas dude.

first post! um i found this from ATPR. i really dig the first track so far. im not fully in a position for manipulation as i mostly just write guitar parts as well. and now the second track is playing and i really like this.

Hey there...this is my first post, and first stab at some collaboration. There's so much on the site already that's inspiring. I landed on the first link in this post to put some vocals to. I had a blast with it:

Thanks for the great guitar track...supremely inspirational.
